A message from our President regarding the last 2 shows and our wind up party

The Board has been closely following the COVID-19 situation in Calgary and given the demographics of our membership, the close proximity of show attendees and acting upon the recommendation of Alberta Health, we have made the decision to cancel the March 21st Saturday Night Special show that was to have featured The Slocan Ramblers. We regret having to do this but it is the prudent course of action. I will also say that the last show on April 18th and the Windup Event scheduled for May 2nd are under evaluation. We strongly suspect that the April 18th show (the East Coast Kitchen Party II with The Ennis Sisters and Dave Gunning) will have to be cancelled and we will let you know our decision by April 5th. Our Facebook page will also reflect this decision and the Ticket Exchange has been closed for comments. Refunds will be made to Season Ticket holders for any shows cancelled of course, but given the uncertainty of the last 2 events we will not do so until after the last event to reduce the onus on our volunteer staff. If you have re-sold your tickets for the March 21st show on our ticket exchange, please contact the buyer to let them know the show has been cancelled and arrange to refund them as refunds will be made directly to season ticket holders. The good news is that the 2020-2021 season will kick off on September 12 with perennial favourites, The Heebee Jeebees and Chuck has been working to fill in the rest of the dates. At the moment the rest of the season looks like this: Oct. 3: John McCutcheon OCT. 24: TBA NOV. 14: Guy Davis with Gumbo, Grits and Gravy JAN. 16: The Fretless FEB. 6: Old Man Leudeke FEB 27: David Francey Mar. 20: TBA APR. 10: The Once On behalf of the Board I would like to wish everyone all the best and good health in this uncertain time. I also want to thank all of the volunteers for their dedication. And last but not least, thank you to the many members who help carry down at the end of the night, stack chairs and clean up. The success of the Chinook Musical Society is the product of so many who love live music and help to keep us going. If you have comments, questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

PS - A number of people have asked about paying for Season Tickets. We will provide that information in our next update as we are sorting out refunds and renewals at the same time. All the best.
